Our vision for e-government, shared with all local authorities in Northamptonshire, is about using new technologies to provide more co-ordinated, customer-led and accessible public services throughout Northamptonshire.
We are aiming to make it easier for our Citizens to engage with us and to access our, and indeed ALL public services, through a single point such as by telephone, face to face at local contact centres or web-site – at times, which best suit them and their needs.
To enable our citizens to access our services via the INTERNET, we are improving our web presence to ensure that it delivers the following outcomes:
- has up to date and relevant information about our services, which citizens use
- is easy to use and accessible
- allows a two way consultation on our services
- provides down load or fill-in forms online to access services
- provides the facility to book venues, resources and courses online
- provides the facility to pay for goods and services online
- provides access to other networks
Our targets for improving our Northamptonshire County Council Web presence are:
- Improve our Website SOCITM rating to 'Transactional' from a current rating of C+;
- Meet the government's Best Value Performance Indicator 157 target by end of 2005;
- Meet the government's priority outcomes by March 2006;
- Increase citizen usage of the web-site by 10% (on Mar04 figures) by end March 2005.
