Our values

All services for older people (50 plus) in Northamptonshire will be based on these principles:

  • Control - that older people have a full range of choices open to them and can make real decisions about their lives in a way that they would wish

  • Fairness - that older people have the same rights to services as others - and that those services are accessible to all older people living in our community. The needs of all communities within the county are fully and equally met; diversity is respected and promoted as an integral part of all services

  • Independence – that older people have the maximum opportunities to remain independent

  • Quality – which older people are entitled to services of a quality that satisfies them and that arrangements are in place to make sure this quality is maintained

  • Respect – the full role that older people can play in our society is recognised and respected and arrangements are in place to support the fullest participation

  • Safety – the importance of older people feeling safe and secure within their own homes and communities is recognised and acted upon
