Volunteering

All of the links on this page will take you to pages elsewhere on the site. To return to this page you can either use the back button on your toolbar or press the backspace key on your keyboard.

Volunteering is simple, it's about giving your time to do something useful, without getting paid (apart from expenses) and in return you get the satisfaction of time and effort well spent.

Here are some ideas of how you could volunteer within the county.

  • Become a countryside volunteer involving yourself with many tasks including, tree planting, hedge-laying and improving access.
  • Become a county councillor
  • Could you adopt or foster a child?
  • Family Link is a Northampton County Council service providing ‘short breaks’ to disabled children by linking them with carers in the community, could you help by spending some time with a child or young person with disabilities?
  • Tree wardens, help to conserve and enhance your local trees and woods.
  • Volunteer to become a school governor
  • Volunteer with Northamptonshire sport, see related links below, to help with the running of sports clubs

Do-it, see related links below, is a national website helping you to find more volunteering opportunities in your local area
