Approved Venues

Under current law, it is possible to have a civil marriage ceremony or a civil partnership at any Approved Venues in England and Wales. Set in the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside or in our historic towns, these range from Stately Homes, Hotels and Golf Clubs.

These venues are licensed by Northamptonshire County Council for both civil marriages and civil partnerships. It is up to the owners of the venues to decide whether or not to offer both types of services or just one, ie civil marriages or civil partnerships. 

It is up to the couple to check that the venue is willing to offer the service which they require. 

Most venues have more than one room licensed so the limit number is the maximum each venue can cater for in the ceremony. You will need to discuss with both the local Register Office and the venue available dates and times. You do not have to live in that district to be able to marry there.
