| What is Compact?
Compact is simply an agreement between government and the voluntary and community sector (VCS) that aims to improve their relationship for mutual advantage. |

|
The Compact document lays out the terms by which these different agencies should work together to benefit the community and, by signing up to the Compact, each organisation agrees to work within its framework.
The Compact's key principles are:
- A healthy VCS is part of a democratic society
- Working in partnership with the VCS can result in better and services, and better outcomes for the community
- Partnership requires strong relationships, integrity and openness
- Government can play a role in funding the VCS
- Independence of the VCS should be respected
Outcomes we are working to achieve:
All NCC processes to become Compact compliant.
