The council's Standards Committee is responsible for upholding the code of conduct and assisting councillors in maintaining high standards of conduct. The Standards Committee may also be involved in dealing with complaints against councillors made to the Standards Board for England.
To ensure impartiality, the committee is made up of three independent members of the public and two councillors. The chair of the committee is always one of the independent members.
Any complaints or reports of breaches of the code of conduct should be made directly to the Standards Board for England. They will investigate the allegation and may pass it back to our Standards Committee to resolve
