County Heritage Sites

We look after 24 historic buildings and monuments across the county.  These are known as County Heritage Sites and are open to the public.

A few are owned by the County Council, the others are in private ownership with the County Council acting as guardian of these sites.


County Heritage Sites in Northamptonshire

Please note:

Access may occasionally be restricted to sites when maintenance or repair works are being carried out.  There are limited parking facilities at each site, unless otherwise stated. 

  • When parking please consider local residents and other road-users.
  • Please be aware and take care of nearby traffic when visiting sites, adjoining roads may be very busy
  • Please take care against slips or trips on those sites where the ground may be uneven, where there are steps, or where sloping ground is present and may be slippery
  • Please close any gates or doors after use and keep any dogs under control
  • Please take your litter home
