Your Kerbside Collection

Recycling at Home?

Your district or borough council provides a kerb-side collection for your recyclables making it easy and convenient to recycle at home. Each collection authority will have a slightly different system to the others. See below or contact your local district and borough council for detailed information.

Recycling household waste


The Daventry System (Daventry Contact Tel: 01327 300001)

Container Materials Collected Not Acceptable Collection Schedule
Red Box All paper including: newspaper, magazines, junk mail, catalogues and envelopes.
Textiles and shoes
Yellow Pages.
Any cardboard.
Windowed envelopes.
Weekly
Blue Box Steel and aluminium food and drink cans.
Aerosols.
Plastic bottles.
Glass jars and bottles.
All items presented clean with tops removed.
Tin Foil.
Any other plastic (e.g. meat trays, yogurt pots, bags, etc).
Broken glass, Pyrex or light-bulbs.
Weekly
Brown Wheelie Bin Garden Waste Cardboard Wax or foil lined containers. Fortnightly
Grey Wheelie Bin Residual waste Any material that can otherwise be recycled. Fortnightly

Recycling is easy when you get in the habit. Instead of throwing away all your rubbish in the bin, simply sort the suitable materials into a recycling bag or box.
