Advice for Potential Childcare Providers
We offer potential providers the opportunity to attend either the Out of School or Early Years Induction Sessions. These are held in Northampton on a monthly basis and are an ideal opportunity for someone who is considering opening a childcare setting.

- Become a Childminder
To become a Childminder you will need to attend a Pre-registration Information Session (2 hours) and then go onto complete a 12 hour Paediatric First Aid Course and an Introduction to Childcare Practice Course (14 hours).

- Out of School clubs
Out of School clubs include breakfast, lunch and after school clubs, as well as holiday play schemes. Visit the 4Children website for advice on setting up an out of school club.
- Pre-school / Playgroup
The Pre-School Learning Alliance (PLA) can provide you with advice on setting up a pre-school playgroup facility.
- First Steps in Access
Designed to improve communication between child care staff and parents/carers who may not have English as their first language.
- County Toy Library
A wide range of toys and equipment can be borrowed for a small charge.

Partners in Print provides information for all childcare settings in Northamptonshire as well as specialist practitioners working in childcare.
