Governor Awards
The 2009 NGA Awards will be held at Birmingham's Council House on March 21st 2009. They include the Governance Award - an entirely new award for governing bodies who have demonstrated real leadership - and the NGA Award for Outstanding Clerks.

Learning and School Improvement (LASI)
You will have noticed that NIAS has been replaced by LASI - Learning Achievement and School Improvement. Governors Service is also part of the Northamptonshire Professional Learning Community (NPLC), led by Interim Manager Joe Pajak.
Attendance Campaign
A campaign took place to improve attendance in schools. Posters were sent to schools in March 2008. There was a high attendance week and a high punctuality week, followed by a rewards week. Toolkit for Governing Body Self-Evaluation
The toolkit promotes self-development and strengthens the three key roles of the governing body (Strategic Direction, Monitoring and Evaluation and Accountability).
