All sessions last 45 minutes, are well planned, organised and structured, and are run at various times during the week.
Places are offered to a named child and are not interchangeable, for any reason. Once you are offered a place and accept it, you become liable for half a term's fees, whether you attend or not.
Parent/Carers of babies up to nine months
- These classes run on a ten-week basis offering a general introduction to the pleasures of music-making with your baby.
- The sessions offer songs, rhymes and activities, which can be continued with the baby at home.
- The group meets once a week and consists of ten adults and their babies.
Parent/carers of children aged 9 months to 3 years
- A shared session, covering a wide range of music-making activities, in a small group of ten adults and their children.
- The sessions develop the child, not only musically, but also socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically.
Three years to school entry
- This group offers the child the opportunity to undertake the session by his/herself when, or if, they are happy to do so, otherwise a parent/carer may stay to support the child.
- A group of ten children meet to experience songs, rhymes, music and movement and are offered the opportunity to compose, listen, perform and respond to music.
Reception and Year 1
Music Foundation – a recently introduced music group designed to provide the foundation blocks for music and performance.
- The children have fun working on many of the skills required for music making including creating and performing music, conducting, music appreciation and composition.
- The sessions help improve their concentration, listening skills and building self confidence.
