It is important that your application is returned to your first preference primary school or current Infant or Lower school (if transferring to Junior or Middle School) by the closing date of 21st November 2008.
If your application is received after this date, it may not be possible to consider it until all the other applications have been processed. This could mean that the school allocated to you is not one of your three preferences, if all three schools are “oversubscribed” with applications received by the deadline.
Moving into Northamptonshire
An exception to this is if you move into or within Northamptonshire after 21st November 2008. In these circumstances, if your application is received by 6th March 2009, in respect of Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools, it will be considered as far as possible in the same way as other applications.
If you move after 6th March 2009 but before the start of the Autumn Term in September 2009, consideration will be given to your preferences, but if all your preferred schools have filled to their Admission Number then:
- In urban areas a place will generally be offered at the nearest school with places available.
- In rural areas, we will seek to make a priority placement, wherever possible, subject to infant class size rules.
Where the governors, rather than the council, are the Admission Authority, please contact the school directly for their policy on late applications.
