School term dates - all areas


Academic year 2007 - 2008

Easter 2008: 21 - 24 March 2008
Early May Bank Holiday: 
5 May 2008
Spring Bank Holiday: 26 May 2008

  Open to pupils on morning of: Closed at end of afternoon on:
Term 1 (35 days) Monday 3 September Friday 19 October
Term 2 (40 days) Monday 29 October Friday 21 December
Term 3 (30 days) Monday 7 January Friday 15 February
Term 4 (28 days) Monday 25 February Friday 4th April
Term 5 (24 days) Monday 21st April Friday 23rd May
Term 6 (38 days) Monday 2nd June 2008 Wednesday 23 July
Academic year 2007 - 2008 = a total 195 days
Within the 195 days there will be 5 staff training days to be arranged by schools in an Area/Cluster within the dates outlined above.  Individual schools will inform parents of their staff training days. 
Pupils are required to attend for 190 days.

Please Note:  the Easter weekend for 2009 is not within a term period.

Term 1 (39 days) Tuesday 2 September Friday 24 October
Term 2 (35 days) Monday 3 November Friday 19 December
Term 3 (30 days) Monday 5 January Friday 13 February
Term 4 (30 days) Monday 23 February Friday 3 April
Term 5 (24 days)

Monday 20 April

Friday 22 May

Term 6 (35 days) Monday 1 June Friday 17July
Academic year 2008 - 2009 = a total 193 days, with two additional training days outlined below making a total of 195.

Training days:
Within the 195 days there will be 5 staff training days to be arranged by schools in an Area/Cluster within the dates outlined above. Monday 1st September 2008 and Monday 20th July 2009 have been identified as training days for all areas. Please check with your child's schools to confirm the dates allocated for the year.   Individual schools will inform parents of their staff training days.
Pupils are required to attend for 190 days.

Term 4 (29 days) Monday 22 February Thursday 1 April
Term 5 (29 days)

Monday 19 April

Friday 28 May

Term 6 (35 days) Monday 7 June Friday 23 July
Academic year 2009 - 2010 = a total 195 days.

Training days:
Within the 195 days there will be 5 staff training days. (These are not included in the table above). Two dates have been fixed for all schools Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th September 2009.  Three dates are to be agreed by schools in their area/cluster within the dates outlined above.  Please check with your child's school to confirm the other dates allocated for the year.   Individual schools will inform parents of their staff training days.
Pupils are required to attend for 190 days.
