As part of the ‘whole school approach’ to Healthy Schools, schools will be asked to survey 20% of all pupils, across the year groups using our on-line pupil surveys.
Schools will be asked to complete the pupil surveys at regular times throughout their progression through the programme.
There are 4 key stage specific online questionnaires which schools can utilise, these have replaced the paper versions previously used throughout the Northamptonshire Healthy Schools Programme.
The questionnaires are designed to ascertain the pupils views and opinions on a range of schools and health related topics and as well as perceived areas for improvement within the school.
The results of the pupil surveys are collated by the Northamptonshire Healthy Schools Team and feed into the School Action Plan.
The results from the pupil surveys are also tracked across the school’s progression through the programme and are one method of evidencing impact.
The summary of results is shared with the schools and other partner agencies working to improve health and education provision for children and young people.
Carrying out Pupil Surveys
Following enrolment on the Northamptonshire Healthy Schools Programme, Schools will receive a First Visit from one of the Healthy Schools Advisors.
Schools will be asked to complete a Baseline Audit and contact Julie Le May from the Northamptonshire Healthy Schools Team who will co-ordinate schools completing their Pupils Surveys.
On contact with Julie, schools will receive a unique identification number that students will need to enter into each survey for security purposes, and also decide on a timeframe of when the surveys will be carried out.
