The DfES, Football Foundation, Northamptonshire County Council and local sports clubs have established and developed first class Study Centres at the counties top professional sports venues.
- Saints Study Centre - Northampton Saints RFC
- Steelbacks Study Centre - Northamptonshire Cricket Club
- Diamonds Study Centre - Rushden & Diamonds FC
- Cobblers Study Centre - Northampton Town FC
- Silverstone Study Centre - Silverstone Motor Circuit
The key programme delivered at the Study Centres is the highly successful 'Playing for Success' (PfS) initiative that uses the medium and environment of sport to raise standards in literacy, numeracy and ICT as well as self-esteem, and confidence.
The Northampton Centres work with all schools in Northampton and some in Daventry whilst the Diamonds Centre provides support for East-Northants (Rushden, Kettering and Wellingborough) and the new Silverstone Centre will work with South-Northants and Daventry schools.
