Funding for Study Support
There is non ring fenced funding for study support in school budgets. Many study support activities are provided free at the point of delivery to pupils. Where there is a direct cost, this can be added by parents/carers to claims for the child tax credit.
Study Support Portfolio and Guidance Notes
Regular guidance notes are sent to schools. The guidance is contained in a Study Support Portfolio which each school has. Individual school activities and projects can be added, building evidence of impact and development of study support within the school.

Quality in Study Support -The Study Support Code of Practice
The Study Support Code of Practice is a tool for schools, libraries, study centres and other setting to ensure quality. It is an auditing and self evaluation tool that can also be used for accreditation.
Accreditation is at three levels:
- emerged
- established
- advanced.
Most schools in Northamptonshire will be at the established level. Accreditation is conducted through peer review under the guidance of the National Critical Friend.
