Logging Exclusions - 6th Day Rule

From the 1st September there is a statutory obligation to provide full-time education for any young person excluded from school.

For permanent exclusions, provision will now be made by Complementary Education, DCSF number 9281100

As a school you should on day 1 complete the following:

1. Log the excluded pupil in your MIS system (eg SIMS or equivalent)
2. Log the excluded pupil in EMS online (use the related link below)
3. Mark the attendance register
4. Mark pupil as Dual reg (Main) until such time as they return on appeal or leave.
5. Send CTF (common Transfer File) immediately to CE (Complementary Education DfES number - 928 1100)
6. Fill in the form below, and fax it to the CE using fax number 01604 239792

The CE register the excluded pupil as Dual (Sub) until they are either returned to school on appeal, or remain at CE where their registration status will change back to Single.
