• Business:
  • Free access in every library to a range of business and finance websites such as Companies House, Kompass
  • all libraries have basic business and European information. More specialist resources such as Companies House and Business Opportunity Profiles are available at Northamptonshire Central Library.
    
    
• Enquire Direct: the Libraries and Information Service's online and telephone enquiry service. We welcome enquiries from anyone who lives, works or studies in Northamptonshire, or who would like information about the county. Use the link in related sections below for further details. 
  
  
• Family and Local History:
  • Free access in every library to fantastic websites such as Ancestry, 1901 Census, Commonwealth War Graves Commission, Family Records, Family Search and the Northamptonshire Family History Society.  
  • All libraries have some local history material.
  • The Northamptonshire Studies collection, see related sections below, is the county's main collection of maps, printed and pictorial material both past and present. It is based in Northamptonshire Central Library.

  •  Free access in every library to their website , which includes the Community Legal Services Directory.
  • All libraries are accredited Community Legal Service information points and provide books and leaflets on consumer issues.

  • Opportunities Collections in the larger libraries have information on schools, colleges, universities, careers and jobs.
    
    
• Local and National Government:
  • Free access in every library to Directgov (the official government website for citizens), Northamptonshire county council and all local council web sites.
  • The main collection of UK Official Publications such as Acts of Parliament and official papers and reports is held at Northamptonshire Central Library. 
    
    
• Newspapers and magazines:
  • Free access to online newspapers in every library.
