We have 36 public libraries in local communities across Northamptonshire. We provide a huge range of services which you can make use of through any library, although smaller libraries may only provide some of them directly.

Opening hours and library details:
During February 2008 we ran a public consultation around increasing opening hours and reworking hours. As a result of the consultation we increased opening hours by 431 hours overall as from June 2008 and established some key principles for opening hours so that they:
- are working family friendly, so open until at least 6:00pm during the week and prioritise afternoon (after school) opening hours;
- include more Saturday hours so that people who work standard working weeks and commute have more opportunity to visit;
- maximise the opportunity for all parts of the community to use us – young, old, working;
- are easy to remember and make sense - every library is open on Saturdays and any closed days are Mondays or Tuesdays.
Libraries will be closed for public holidays in 2008/09 as follows:
- Monday 25th August
- Closures for December are yet to be confirmed however are likely to be Wednesday 24th-Friday 26th December.
- Thursday 1st January
