Renewing your books online
- Go into the Library Catalogue, pick the 'My Account' option (top of the page) and enter your membership number and PIN. This will bring up a list of the items you have on loan. Click on the box to the left of the title(s) you wish to renew.
Reserving items online
- Go into the Library Catalogue, pick the 'Place Request' option (top of the page) and enter your membership number and PIN.
- There are fees for reserving items.
- Email notification - If you wish to be notified by email when your reserved items are ready for collection, register your email address with your local library. This service applies to any reservation whether placed online or in person at the library (please note overdue notices and information about the library may also be sent to you by email).
Using the Library Catalogue
The library catalogue lists all materials available in Northamptonshire Libraries. You do not need to be a member of the library to view the Catalogue. It has details of over 800,000, books, DVDs, and other items in Northamptonshire libraries. For each item you can find out which library it is at and how long you may borrow it for. If you are a library member you can borrow up to ten items at a time.
Use the 'My Account' option to check
- what you have on loan, eg when they are due to be returned
- what reservations you have outstanding
- any charges you may have on your borrower ticket
- change your PIN, address and email details
Use the 'Search' option to search for items by:
- Author
- Keyword
- Title
- Type of item - the 'Collections' option for:
- Main catalogue (includes all items)
- Audio Books
- Children and Young Adults
- Language Courses
- Large Print
- Local Studies Material
- Recorded Music
- Videos Discs (DVDs)
- Video Tapes
- Year of publication
Use the 'Power Search' option to also search for items by language - from Bengali to Vietnamese.
Use the 'Ready Made Searches' option and browse, for example:
- The Readers Choice List: The Top Thirty recommended reads
- The Top 20 lists of the most popular, borrowed books that week
- The New Stuff lists of new books and DVDs
- The special collections lists - such as Read Yourself Well and the Richard and Judy book list
