The Integrated Risk Management Planning (IRMP) team within Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service publish plans for improving community safety through reviewing the efficiency and effectiveness of all aspects of the service.
If you would like to view this year's plan (year five) and the previous years plans, please look under 'Pages in this section' on the right hand side of this page.
The plans includes our Integrated Risk Management Process which was first launched in 2003. This was in response to the government’s call for the modernisation of fire and rescue services around the county, which emphasised the need to put more resources into preventative work to reduce the number of fires and other emergencies that occur.
Cabinet member for community safety, Councillor Liz Tavener said:
"The fire and rescue service plays an essential role in our commitment to improving the safety and quality of life for everyone in the county.
We have already seen a great deal of change in the service including an increase in the amount of preventative work which last year, helped reduce the number of fires in the county, the number of calls to automatic fire alarms and reduced our attendance to calls of a malicious nature.
This year sees an expansion in their prevention, protection and responsive work seeing a wider focus on all accidental injuries, whether they occur from fire, road traffic collisions or any other incidents".
