Potholes

A pothole is where the surface of the road has been eroded and a hollow has formed. The Council, as Highway Authority, has responsibility for the maintenance and repair of the Highway.

The actions which will be taken to deal with a pothole depends on various factors, including the size and depth of the pothole and the position of the road or footway in the maintenance hierarchy. If the pothole is considered dangerous it will be filled within 24 hours. However in some cases the size and location of the pothole mean that it is not necessary to fill it immediately.

To report a pothole use the online streetdoctor fault reporting form
