The Northamptonshire Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) Web site has been setup to provide practical information, advice and a point of contact to all those affected by drug abuse.
Working in partnership to reduce drugs in the county. This includes preventing young people becoming drug users, reducing the supply of illegal drugs, reducing drug related crime and the harm it causes to our communities, promote treatment and support and to reduce drug related deaths.
- The DAAT will work, in partnership with, the police, National Probation Service and prisons and young offenders institutions to encourage drug offenders into treatment and away from involvement in drug-related crime.
- The DAAT is working towards assisting drug users to access accommodation, education and employment.
- The DAAT is working towards reducing the drug-related issues that have an impact on community morale, ie sex workers activities.
- The DAAT is working towards consulting drug users and their carers, as well as those communities affected by drug use.
