Wanted - drivers/cooks
We are urgently seeking people who are willing to become relief Meals on Wheels paid drivers or cooks in most areas of the county. Full training will be given and Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks will be carried out. These posts would ideally suit mature people who are looking to work a few hours a week.

We can deliver meals to elderly or disabled people in their own homes if following an assessment of their needs, they are eligible for social care support. Meals can be provided on a short or long term basis according to need.
What type of meals do we deliver?
We can provide meals that meet all dietary needs, such as:
- Diabetic
- Gluten free
- Vegetarian
- Low carbohydrate
- Low fat
- Low salt
- Soft diet
Meals are usually delivered hot but can be delivered frozen on request. Frozen meals can be reheated at any time of the day. The Meals Service operates every day of the year.
How much will I have to pay?
The standard price of meals is £2.86 (main meal £2.04, pudding £0.82)
Our recommendation
If the meal is supplied hot, we recommend that it should be eaten as soon as it is delivered to ensure optimum quality and safety. No part of a hot delivered or reheated meal should ever be saved for later in the day.
Our Standards
We aim to provide good quality food, delivered at the correct temperature - frozen or hot. If the meal is unsatisfactory in any way, the payment will be refunded.
