Concessionary bus travel set to improve
The government is introducing a new national free concessionary travel scheme from 1st April 2008, which will mean that:
- everyone aged 60 and over
- and also people with disabilities (as defined by the Department of Transport)
will receive free travel on bus services anywhere in England after 9:30am on weekdays and at all times at weekends.
In certain areas free travel may also be available before 9:30am on weekdays. This will be determined by each local borough and district council.
Existing bus pass holders
If you have not received your new national bus pass please contact the concessionary travel section of your local borough or district council.
New applicants
Anyone who does not have a concessionary travel pass but thinks that they may be eligible, should contact the concessionary travel section at their local borough or district council.
