CAF Training
Common Assessment training is aimed at both managers and practitioners and is delivered by a multi agency team of trainers to multi agency audiences. Courses are based aimed at practitioners working in a particular locality – we are keen to support the development of networks of practitioners in each area.
The training takes place over one day. The training aims to ensure that participants are familiar with:
- The benefits of Common Assessment, the potential barriers to its implementation and how we can overcome them
- Using Common Assessment – when it might be appropriate and when it would not
- The processes involved in the use of the Common Assessment Framework
- Good practice in assessment across agencies, especially in the positive engagement of service users
- The content of the Pre-Assessment Checklist and the Common Assessment form and what makes a well completed form
- The role and responsibilities of a Lead Professional and how they relate to Common Assessment
The training is relevant for those who will be completing assessments and for those who may be requested to provide a service as a result of an assessment completed by someone else.
Prior to the training participants will be sent login details and a password for an online training package. This package is intended to prepare participants for the face to face training, be a resource for raising awareness of the Framework amongst other colleagues and as a reference tool. It is expected that participants will have completed the online learning before attending the training. There is a link below to take you to the online training package but you should only attempt this if you have received confirmation of your password from us.
Important Points
- Training takes place on one day, timings will be 9:30 - 16:30
