Through the Money4Youth scheme the Government has given Northamptonshire County Council £702,000 to allocate to young people between the ages of 13 and 19 who come up with the best ideas for youth activities in their area.
The money has been divided up amongst the Boroughs and Districts according to their population, see the document below for the allocated fund for each area.
We want young people to be involved in decision making about things to do and places to go. They can be anything from a music group to a chess club to a girls football club or a DJ event. We want you to think about whether your project gets lots of other people involved, active and taking part.
We want you to make sure that young people who don't always get activities or opportunities are catered for and supported so that they can take part in activities.
Each Borough/District has a local youth forum run by young people who have a responsibility for your local rights. Simply put your ides on the simple form and send it to your local Youth Forum (see 'How do I apply' below).
Young people from your local district (or borough) youth forum will then choose the best, most interesting ideas, which can be delivered to you quickly with the help of council staff.
You will need to download a youth opportunity form below, that has been designed by young people, and then send the form to the contact person in your local District or Borough'.
Once the ideas have been chosen the council officers will sort out the arrangements to start the project. Everyone who applies will be told about the best projects and be thanked for sending in their ideas whether their idea was chosen or not.
