Child Protection

The safety and welfare of children, or Child protection, means protecting children from physical, emotional or sexual abuse or neglect. 

• Child Protection - our legal duty
  We have a duty under the Children Act 1989 to assist with enquiries where a child is at risk of 'significant harm' or is actually being harmed, and then take steps to ensure that the child is protected and supported.
  
  
• Local Safeguarding Children Board
  The Board determines the child protection procedures and policies that all the agencies must follow in child protection cases.
  
  
• What to do if you are concerned about a child or young person
  Who should you contact if you are concerned about the safety or welfare of a child, young person or an unborn child.
