Over 800 years of Northamptonshire's history

The Northamptonshire Record Office holds over 800 years of the county’s rich archival heritage, which can be accessed free of charge on-site. The archives cover all aspects of life in Northamptonshire, and the people who lived here.

We hope the Record Office and our collections of documents will have something to offer you, whatever your interests.

Services we offer

The Record Office provides free WiFi access in the Searchroom and Index Room. We also have 8 public computers with broadband internet access.

Preservation and conservation

The Record Office aims to ensure the safe preservation of archives and to make those archives available for research. The physical preservation of the collections is a core part of the Record Office's role.
