The Heritage Education Service aims to make the collections of the Northamptonshire Record Office available to school children of all ages.
The Heritage Education Officer is happy to offer free help and advice to teachers wishing to use our services.
In addition, we provide a range of National Curriculum linked workshops and classroom resources to enable teachers to use archival documents and images in the classroom.
We have created four education packs for teachers to use in their classrooms. The packs use images of original documents from our collections to bring the past to life.
- World War Two (Key Stage Two)
- World War One (Key Stage Three)
- Medieval Realms, 1066-1500 (Key Stage Three)
- Crime and Punishment, 1750-1900 (GCSE)
These packs cost £10.00 each (plus £2.50 postage and packing) and come with a CD of images used in the packs.
We will be providing a free inset afternoon on Monday 20 September between 2:00pm and 4:00pm.
For more information please contact the Heritage Education Officer.
