We recognise the strength and value of effective partnerships in contributing to the improvement of the well-being of the county's communities and encourage partnership working wherever appropriate.

In an effort to improve on the way we work in partnership, we have developed the Northamptonshire County Council Partnership Protocol.

The Partnership Protocol is designed to:

• Convey to our partners what they can expect of us when working in partnership. We see it as a starting position from which to strengthen partnership working.
• Act as a tool for councillors and officers to assess whether a partnership approach to working is the most effective way of working or whether an alternative arrangement is required.
