Annual Survey of Civil Society Organisations

Background

Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) works in partnership with the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) to provide public services and the council has ambition to improve service provision, its relationship with the VCS and the wider Civil Society Sector.

The Council values the important role that the VCS plays in helping to deliver public services and recognises the Sector’s role in the Big Society Agenda.

What is a Civil Society organisation?

Civil Society is the current government term for what was previously the Third Sector.   For example, some organisation types under the Civil Society include: charitable organisations; community-based organisations; co-operatives; social enterprise organisations; faith groups.

If the purpose of your organisation is to serve communities then we want to here from you.

Purpose of the Survey

In order to make improvements, NCC is conducting a survey that will enable the levels of satisfaction with NCC processes when awarding grant and contracts to be measured and will also give an opportunity for views on the impact of local help, support and advice provided to organisations that directly support communities.

Additionally NCC is interested in the current understanding is of the Big Society.

NCC is inviting you to participate in this survey as your feedback is valuable and will help us to identify where improvements need to be made.  The survey will also be used to inform our future activity.

How to take part

The deadline for participating in the survey has now passed and we would like to thank you for your participation.

Results from the survey are due to be available in May 2011 and will be posted on this web page.
