Councillor Rosemary Bromwich
Rosemary has lived in Northamptonshire since 1970, moving here from London with her family and 2 children. She is married to Nick a solicitor and they have two grandchildren. Rosemary’s family have always been involved in politics in London, and her father was Mayor of the London Borough of Croydon.
Rosemary worked for Milton Keynes Development Corporation in the 1970s as a Community Worker and then as an Education Welfare Worker at various schools in Milton Keynes. In 1986 she joined the Northamptonshire Probation Service working as a Probation Officer in the Crown Courts, and the Court Welfare Service.
In 1997 Rosemary was elected to represent Towcester on the county council and has held that seat since then. She has held a variety of positions within the Council and was recently Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Social Services. She has been Deputy Chairman of the council and in May 2010 was elected as Chairman of the Council. Rosemary also sits on the Police Authority.
Rosemary now represents the council on the governors of Northampton General Hospital. She was elected to represent South Northamptonshire on Northampton Healthcare Trust which cares for those with Learning Disabilities and Mental Illness.
