We are committed to being an open, accountable and transparent local authority. As part of this commitment we are publishing details of the contracts that we currently hold, as well as of those for which there is an opportunity to tender.
This is in line with the government's promise to ensure that local councils are transparent about their contract expenditure and tender opportunities.
Contracts
In an organisation of our size with an annual gross expenditure of close to £1 billion, it is inevitable that we will hold a large number of contracts of varying values to help us deliver over 210 separate services for which we are responsible in Northamptonshire.
These range from archaeology, to caring for the disabled and all education in the county.
Contracts register
In an effort to give our customers access to some of the details of these contracts, we are publishing a council contracts register. The contracts register is a record of the contracts we hold with a value of £20,000 or more.
Any contract valued at less than that will generate a purchase order number, which allows the expenditure associated with it to appear in our publication of council spending over £500.
Our current contracts register can be viewed here, both in PDF and CSV format:
How often will the council's contract register be updated?
We will update our contract register at the end of each month to reflect any additions or conclusions to our contracts.
Tenders
We have been publishing our tender opportunities for some time.
The Source Northamptonshire website is the first port of call for viewing contract opportunities with us. Source Northamptonshire gives information on new contract opportunities and a list of recurring contracts for which it is possible to bid in the future:
We also publish a range of tendering opportunities for our corporate property and asset portfolio. For more information regarding current and future tender opportunities, including for our property and assets, please visit:
