School Term Dates and Holidays

Any school in England must by law provide 380 half-day sessions (190 full teaching days), details of full days are shown below.

Academic year 2010 - 2011

Easter 2011: 22 - 25 April 2011
Early May Bank Holiday: 2 May 2011
Spring Bank Holiday: 30 May 2011

Academic year 2010 - 2011 = a total 195 days.

Training days:

  • Within the 195 days there will be 5 staff training days. (These are not included in the table above).
  • No dates have yet been fixed for the schools.
  • PLEASE NOTE: All Primary Schools teaching Key Stage 1 and 2 will close for 1 extra training day (making staff training days for all Primary Schools only, 6 days).
  • Five dates are to be agreed by schools in their area/cluster within the dates outlined above.
  • Please check with your child's school to confirm the other dates allocated for the year. Individual schools will inform parents of their staff training days.

Pupils are required to attend for 190 days.

Academic year 2011 - 2012 = a total 194 days.

Training days:

  • Within the 194 days there will be 5 staff training days.

For this academic year pupils are required to attend for 189 days. This is due to the extra bank holiday to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
