We are able to offer many different free services and benefits for your child, to encourage and enrich their learning. Whether you have a newborn, a toddler or your child is starting school, you will find some great services and benefits on offer.
My Child Text Alerts!
You can sign up to receive free text alerts to let you know when you child can begin to access one of the services or benefits below. For example, when your child is entitled to receive free books, we will send you a text to let you know how you can get them. We will also send you a text when it is time to apply for your childs place. Sign up to the My Child Text Alerts service and we will send you free texts so you can access the services and benefits at the right time.

- Free Books for My Child
Find out how you can get free books for your child from the age of 7 months.
- Free 'Rhymetime' Sessions
Rhymetime uses simple musical instruments and action songs to help babies develop language and rhythm skills.
- Free Entitlement to Childcare
From the term after your child turns 3 years of age you are entitled to some free childcare. Evidence shows that the educational benefits gained by taking this entitlement stay with the child for many years.
- School Admissions
Children are eligible for a school place in Northamptonshire in the September following their fourth birthday. You need to make sure you apply for a place in the Autumn of the year before your child is due to start.
- Free School Meals
Find out if you are entitled to a free healthy school meal for your child.
- Home to School Transport
You may need school transport for your child. You can find out here if school transport is available and whether you may be entitled to receive it for free.
