Waterstone's Childrens' Book Prize 2010 

The winner of this prize for new authors was Katie Davies for The Great Hamster Massacre. Other books on the shortlist were:

CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Medal Winners 

Bog Child by Siobhan Dowd The Carnegie Medal is awarded to a book of outstanding literary quality in terms of plot, style and theme. The most recent winner was Bog Child by Siobhan Dowd. Harris Finds His Feet by Catherine Rayner The Kate Greenaway Medal is an award for excellence in illustration. 
The most recent winner was Harris Finds His Feet written and illustrated by Catherine Rayner.

Blue Peter Book Awards Winners 2010

Nine child judges from around the UK chose the winners of the three categories. The overall winner was Ali Sparkes Frozen in Time.

Guardian Children's Fiction Prize Winner 2009

This is the only award judged solely by children's authors, this year's judges are Celia Rees, Andy Stanton and last year's winner Patrick Ness. The winning book was Exposure by Mal Peet.

Booktrust Teenage Book Prize Winner 2009

This contemporary young adult fiction prize is judged by a mixed group of adults and young people.

Branford Boase First Novel Award 2009

The Branford Boase First Novel Award celebrates promising, new first-time authors of children's books. The winning book was The Traitor Game by BR Collins.
