Alternative Education Provision

EYS (Education & Youth Services Ltd)

EYS work with young people to help them prepare for their futures.  They have the expertise and resources to re-engage young people with learning by addressing individual barriers to learning, in conjunction with more general confidence and motivation building techniques.

The restart programme is an initiative that aims to equip young people who have disengaged or are at risk of being excluded from mainstream education.  It will offer these young people the necessary tools to succeed in life by:

  • Re-engaging young people with learning and build self-esteem, therefore working to promote social inclusion
  • Raising aspirations and improving levels of participation and achievement
  • Promoting the development of personal and social skills and emotional intelligence
  • Delivering accredited life and basic skills
  • Preparing young people for further education, training or employment post 16

An initial assessment identifies the learning and support needs of each learner, from this a structured curriculum is devised. All key subjects available are linked to ASDAN, Edexcel and OCR awards.

Referrals for EYS must be made through the School Admissions team.
