Previous planning decisions

Although the county council's role in determining planning applications relates to minerals, waste and its own development only, there is nevertheless a range of proposals that differ in scale and nature that require determination.

Some are refused, but the majority are approved, although these are normally subject to conditions in respect of the approved development.

Planning applications are either determined by county council staff, or if there are objections to an application, by the Development Control Committee of the county council. If a planning application is determined by the Planning Committee then a report to councillors with a recommendation is prepared.

To view committee reports, see our new Committee Management Information System. For committees from May 2010 onwards, select the 'Meetings' tab and search for the relevant committee. For all meetings before May 2010, select 'Other Committees' from the left hand menu and select the 'Development Control' link in the appropriate year's list.

When an application is approved or refused, a Decision Notice is issued by the county council. The Decision Notice includes the conditions that have to be complied with in building the approved development.

It should be noted that although the county council determines the applications and not the local District/Borough Council, each application is registered by the District/Borough Council and given a reference number by them.

In April 2007, the county council also began allocating a reference number for their records. All decisions since this date will be listed by the county council reference number.

For ease of reference, the list of applications determined by the county council is therefore by District/Borough area.

The Minerals and Waste and county council decisions can be found on the links below. These will be back dated over time.

If you are unable to find a decision, please contact the Development Control offices.
