It's free!
Only library members can borrow items to take home, reserve items using the Library Catalogue and use our online information resources from home or anywhere via the internet.
You can now choose to be a Full library member or a Virtual library member - it's very easy and you don't need identification:
Full Library Member
- If you are over 16 complete the online Full library member application form, which will be sent to the library of your choice. The library will then contact you when your card is ready for you to collect from the library.
- Or just call in at your nearest library and your details will be entered on to our system and you will be given your card immediately. You can be a full library member from any age (from 0 upwards).
- Full library members can:
- borrow books and other items from all Northamptonshire public libraries.
- reserve items using the Library Catalogue and online resources.
- There are different types of full library membership available, for example for children, for young adults, for people with a reading impairment.
- Adult full library membership includes virtual library membership and allows you to use our online information resources from anywhere via the internet simply by using the number on your library card.

- If you are already an adult library member - you do not need to become a virtual library member as well. Your membership already includes virtual library membership and you can use our online information resources from anywhere via the internet simply by using the number on your library card.
