Registration Service

Public consultation

The Registration Service is conducting a public consultation on a proposal to change the delivery locations and availability through the day, for statutory marriages and civil partnerships. A statutory marriage or civil partnership takes place in the Registrar's office (where filing cabinets and computers etc are in situ, with only the couple, 2 witnesses and the registrar present, no guests). The proposal does not affect the delivery locations or ceremony times for marriage and civil ceremonies in the Registration Service's ceremony rooms or at the 70 plus approved venues across the county.
