Your county council tax explained

Council tax is paid by every eligible household in the country. In Northamptonshire, this money goes to your district or borough council, the county council, the Police and Crime Commissioner, and in some cases, your parish council.

How much will I pay?

As part of the government spending review announced on 25th November 2015, local authorities responsible for Adult Social Care are allowed an additional 2% on the current council tax referendum threshold to be used specifically for Adult Social Care.

Northamptonshire County Council has applied a 2% Adult Social Care Precept.
