Northamptonshire Integrated Working Procedures for Practitioners and Managers
Purpose of the Integrated Working Procedures
The Integrated Working Procedure is intended to support practitioners and managers as they work together in a more integrated way. It includes tools, agreements and procedure that will enable staff in each agency to work together more effectively.
The Procedure will be relevant to any practitioner or manager whose work brings them into contact with children and young people and with other teams and organisations.
It will be especially useful in any assessment process when arranging support where a child/young person has a range of needs.
It will also be useful as part of other single agency assessment processes when deciding if support from other organisations would be required.
It provides a common language for partners to use in describing their work to others and to understand the work of partners.
The Vulnerability Matrix
The Procedure contains a “Vulnerability Matrix”. The Matrix is intended to facilitate a better understanding of the level of a child/young person’s needs and the services designed to meet those needs.
It contains descriptions of need and associated types of intervention to be expected from Northamptonshire County Council Children and Young People’s Service social work teams.
What mandate does it have?
The Procedure has been approved by the Northamptonshire Children and Young People’s Partnership Board and the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board Northamptonshire.
This means that both Boards have agreed that it should be used by practitioners and managers. Board members have signed on behalf of their organisations.
Please Note
The Integrated Working procedures have now been approved by Northampton General Hospital.
