Q: Are all activities led by school staff?

A: The Centre has qualified and experienced Rangers who will lead most daytime activities, however there are activities which do not require Ranger input.

We recommend you arrange a preliminary visit to the Centre to discuss your programme, particularly if this is your first visit.

Q:What do we need to bring?

A: There is no need to bring anything special for your trip to Everdon as we provide all the equipment needed including waterproofs.

We recommend that children bring their own wellingtons although we have some that can be borrowed.

Make sure the children have suitable clothing for the season, overnight visits will require a sleeping bag.

For residential visits we will send you a recommended clothing and kit list.

Q: How many children can we bring?

A: There is a minimum number of children for groups which is detailed in your pack. Ideally we ask that residential groups be no larger than 30, but we can accommodate larger groups if necessary.

If you want to bring a large group for a day visit please contact us to discuss arrangements.

Q: What happens if any of the children can't make it?

A: For day visits you will only be charged for the children attending but will be charged for the minimum if your numbers go below this. If the majority of the group is unable to attend we can arrange your trip for another time.

For residential trips you will be charged for the numbers given to us on the "Request for Final Numbers" form.

However, if you wish to cancel your booking we would need a minimum of a weeks notice for day courses and three months notice for residential courses. We will retain your booking fee to cover administration costs.

Q: What about safety?

A: All of the activities have been risk assessed, and are always led by qualified, experienced Rangers. Category C authorisation is automatic for Northamptonshire groups.

Q: What happens if the weather is bad?

A: If the weather is due to be wet, windy or cold don't worry! We can usually still go out as long as the children have plenty of layers on.

Alternatively if the weather is extremely bad, we may ask you to choose an alternative activity or even postpone your visit if necessary.

Q: Where do the experiences take place?

A: The Centre is surrounded by beautiful countryside. We use the local Everdon Stubbs woods or Badby woods and our Forest School site outside Daventry.

All the sites used are within a 4 mile radius of the Centre. We also use a stream on nearby farmland for river studies and travel to Braunston for canal studies.

Please note: For day groups of over 28 you will need to arrange for your coach to stay with you for the day as we will use the coach to transfer the group between the Centre and the activity site. If you are using our minibus for transport it has adjustable seatbelts fitted.
