Primary Schools Information
Outdoor education and residential experience for children is an important part of their learning and development and here at Everdon we have a wide range of opportunities for children to participate.
National Curriculum
Our activities are designed to complement the National Curriculum in all areas from Foundation Stage onwards. They are a unique way to improve self-esteem, motivation, confidence and team work. The learning experience is challenging and enjoyable and helps to encourage positive personal development.
Each activity is linked to both the Every Child Matters and the Learning Outside the Classroom agendas.
Residential and Day Courses
The Centre offers a variety of programmes but can also develop programmes to meet your exact requirements.
Take a look at our slide show

In the woods you could become an artist or design a mini-shelter

discover how the trees feed themselves or even give one a hug.

Use your skills to find out who lives here

from the smallest to the largest

and even track them through the woods

Have a go at building a shelter

even using natural materials.

Once you’ve built your shelter have a go at

fire lighting without matches

and cook your own marshmallows

Down at the river you could study the meander

making a sketch of it or the surrounding area,

measure the flow of the stream

to discover how fast it goes, even compare with another part.

You could measure the depth of the river

creating a cross section for your study,

or how about dipping in the stream

who lives here? Are they different from the woodland animals?

At Newnham Hill we have our own

or you could try out our blind trail.

Try your hand at bird watching

or learn about history at Fawsley.

At Braunston study the history of the canals

and discover how big you could build your boat.

Back at the Centre you can take part in our team and problem solving games or we could bring them to your school.

Whatever you’d like to do, we can do most activities either at our Centre or at your own site.
