What is the Commissioning Toolkit?
The Commissioning Toolkit is the first of its kind in the country, providing organisations with:
- a full and detailed programme of how to engage young people; and
- how to work with them and train them to give them the skill set they need to effectively be involved in commissioning youth services.
Who can use the toolkit?
Any organisation that commissions youth services can use the toolkit and it can be adapted to suit their needs. Organisations include:
- district and borough councils
- health services
- police services
- voluntary and private organisations
What does the toolkit provide?
The toolkit provides a complete resource for organisations including a two day training programme with handouts, exercises, workshop content and even certificates for those taking part.
It has been successfully piloted with 21 young people from around Northamptonshire who provided ideas and feedback on how to shape it to make it work for them.
