7 February 2012 - £250 Pay Award
In line with what we understood to be Government policy, we factored in £250 for all UQTs and schools support staff who earn less that £21,000 as a salary increase for 2012-13 in our 3 Year Budget Planning Tool for 2012-13.
We have now been informed by HR that “There has been no payment of £250 to employees under 21k, this was a government policy that the national local employers refused to offer to green book employees. It was not included last year and is unlikely to be this year, no pay award has been the outcome for green book/schools support employees.” This means that the £250 increase only applies to UQTs for 2012-13.

14 December 2011 - Education Funding for 2012-13
The Department for Education (DfE) have just released information regarding funding for schools for 2012-13. The headlines are as follows:
- A Minimum Funding Guarantee is being applied so that no school sees more than a 1.5% per pupil reduction in 2012-13 budgets (excluding sixth form) compared to 2011-12 and before Pupil Premium is added.
- Pupils from Reception to Year 11 will be eligible for Pupil Premium which will now be based on pupils who have been eligible for Free School Meals at any point during the last 6 years.
- The rate of Pupil Premium for 2012-13 is being increased to £600 per pupil, with Service Child premium being increased to £250.
