County Heritage Sites

We look after 24 historic buildings and monuments across the county. These are known as County Heritage Sites and are open to the public.

A few are owned by the county council, the others are in private ownership with the county council acting as guardian of these sites.

County Heritage Sites in Northamptonshire

When visiting the sites please remember to:

  • consider local residents and other road-users when parking
  • be aware and take care of nearby traffic when visiting sites, adjoining roads may be very busy
  • take care against slips or trips on those sites where the ground may be uneven, where there are steps, or where sloping ground is present and may be slippery
  • close any gates or doors after use and keep any dogs under control
  • take your litter home

Please note
Access may occasionally be restricted to sites when maintenance or repair works are being carried out.  There are limited parking facilities at each site, unless otherwise stated.
