Schools' Safety Challenge

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service are proud to introduce our Schools' Safety Challenge website, which is available to all primary, infant and junior schools across the County.  The Electrical Safety Council sponsored the Schools' Safety Challenge.

Schools Safety Challenge

The website is aimed at (but not limited to) children in Year 4.

What does the website provide?

Children can learn more about how to stay safe with interactive content that can be used in classrooms.

  • They will be able to take part in educational quizzes and activities covering a range of messages including fire safety, water safety, road safety, personal safety, home safety and electrical safety.
  • Lesson plans for teachers to support the use of the website.
  • A home fire safety check list designed for children to take home and, along with their families, identify any potential risks in the home.

There are photos and information about our fire stations, fire engines, fire kit and our fire investigation dogs. This will introduce children to Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service, where they can learn more about their local fire station and see what their local firefighters do to keep their community safe.

Countywide Schools' Safety Challenge 2015

The competition is still open for this year and the final will be on 26 June 2015.

For any schools that have not entered this school year, we will be starting a new competition in September 2015 with the final scheduled for June 2016.  To be in with a chance to compete in the competition, your school will need to register on the website and pupils take part in the various activities and quizzes.  The four top scoring schools using the website will qualify for the opportunity to take part in the "Countywide Schools' Safety Challenge Final 2016".  To register your school or for further information, please click on the "Schools' Safety Challenge" image above.

Studfall Primary School - Countywide Schools' Safety Challenge Winner 2014

In 2014, Studfall Primary, Croyland Primary, Corby Old Village and Weldon C of E Primary were the top schools in the Countywide Schools' Safety Challenge and were invited to the competition at Corby Fire Station.  Pupils had a lot of fun competing against each other in this educational challenge based around the Schools' Safety Challenge website.

It was another close competition but Studfall Primary won on a 2nd

tie break question.
