You'll help our pupils understand the world
And truly comprehend
The beauty and the wonder

So they can all decide
How to live and how to do

And learn how to be strong

So what our children really want
Is a happy, smiling face,
To help them learn to make the world
A better, wiser place.

EARLY YEARS TEACHER

Required Easter 2015 – Highly competitive salary

We began a rapid journey to become beyond outstanding a year ago.  Our aspiration and expectations are clear that we aim to rapidly become one of the leading academies across the UK.  We always aim for UK or World best in everything that we do and recruiting the best staff is key to this.

Following complete change of most aspects of the academy throughout last year and with a purely positive ethos, a highly successful recruitment campaign saw us re-launching the academy fully staffed, with one of the most dynamic staff bodies that exist in any school.

Although we are fully staffed, we are now looking to add even more capacity by finding some special people to add the ‘icing’.  Is this you?  We are seeking a motivated, passionate and committed Early Years teacher to join us on our journey to outstanding.  To put it even more simply, we want people who are superb at their job!  We need passion, energy, commitment, ability, positivity and a willingness to go beyond expectation.

Description:

September 2014 signalled an exciting new chapter in our journey towards ‘beyond outstanding’ as we launched our new House system.  The House system underpins everything that we do and creates a keen sense of competition and belonging within the academy and local community.  Our close links with the Duke of Buccleuch are reflected in the names for our Houses which are taken from elements of his family’s coat of arms.  The introduction of a new uniform, in which House colours dominate, is a visible sign of the new sense of pride which is now a feature of our exceptional learning environment.

Our philosophy is simple.  We challenge and support each and every child to achieve more than they thought themselves capable of, whilst at the same time finding school life to be more enjoyable than they thought it was supposed to be.  Mature and mutually respectful relationships characterise our community and we strive for excellence in every way, leaving no stone unturned.

If you would like to be part of a great team and work in a great school with a unique ethos, we would very much like to meet you.  If you would like to visit the academy, please contact Miss Millsop, PA to the Principal on 01536 316367 or email wendy.millsop@ketteringbuccleuch-academy.org

Catering for those aged 4-19, our aim is to be a beacon school in the region, be respected as a beyond outstanding academy and be recognised as both a national and international model of innovation and best practice.  Our teaching, learning and CPD support has already been recognised and nominated by external agencies for excellence and as a model for superb teacher support.

We have some of the best facilities nationally, bristling with cutting edge technology to bring education alive in the 21st Century.  Based in Kettering, we are very well situated for travel with easy access to beautiful countryside and our staff have a superb quality of life.  Staff live over a wide area from Cambridgeshire in the East to Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Rutland and Oundle.

You will have Qualified Teacher Status.  Excellent professional development is available to all staff.

Description:

We are looking for a new teacher to come and teach our fantastic Key Stage 1 class, at least for the Summer Term and possibly for the whole of next academic year as well.

Grendon is currently graded as Outstanding by OFSTED and the Diocese but don’t let this put you off too much. It certainly doesn’t mean that we teach to the test and most of us still manage to have some kind of social life which extends beyond attending the school disco. Apart from the Head, we don’t have anybody who throws their out the pram too often – we are all fairly low maintenance and work extremely well as a team. So, if you are down to earth, don’t take yourself too seriously and can put up with Mrs Greenham’s Michael Buble obsession, then you will probably find that you will warm to our team very quickly.

We are an innovative school and all staff are prepared to go the extra mile to provide our pupils with a truly memorable primary school experience. We achieve high standards and so you will have to be a creative risk taker with a proven record of success.

The physical shell of the school building could never be described as state of the art but one of the upsides of inhabiting a school like ours is that we are free to drill, stick, saw, dismantle and build amazing things in our classrooms without getting into trouble. As a result, we make incredible learning environments to support our unique Global Curriculum and this is something that you will need to fully embrace if you join our team.

If you do things because ‘that’s how it’s always been done’ then I’m afraid Grendon almost certainly is not the school for you but if you aspire to be an outstanding, creative practitioner, then we have the expertise in house to support this very realistic goal.

The best thing to do is come and see us. If you would like to find out more and you can see yourself working as part of our outstanding team then we would definitely like to meet you. The post would be suitable for teachers at any stage of their career, including NQTs.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Successful candidates will be required to undertake the usual DBS checks.
