We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed full time class teacher for our well behaved, hardworking children. In the afternoons the class is joined by a small group of year 4 pupils for the other subjects.

First and foremost we are looking for an outstanding teacher who will give our wonderful, enthusiastic children the exciting and challenging education they deserve. For the right candidate we are willing to negotiate the start date.

Our new team member will:

·       Demonstrate a positive attitude, have a sense of humour and a passion for learning and teaching.

·       Be able to take responsibility for the progress and achievement of our Year 3 pupils for the Core subjects of Reading, Writing and Mathematics, to plan and prepare lessons, assess and monitor progress, and to provide an exciting and stimulating curriculum.

Description:

Welton Academy is a small school with big aspirations, situated in the delightful village of Welton. We have 138 children on roll in 5 classes and were judged to be ‘Outstanding’ in our last Ofsted Inspection.

This is an exciting opportunity for an excellent and dedicated practitioner to join this happy, quirky and successful primary school.  We have an old chaotic building where we have to make use of every available space, and have to be creative with our timetable and resources. This has resulted in a whole school community that has a ‘can do’ attitude, where we work together to create a stimulating, exciting timetable supported by an ever increasing range of extra-curricular activities. We are looking to appoint a Teacher of Science on a fixed term contract for September 2015.

Huxlow Science College is located in semi-rural Northamptonshire and has exceptional road and rail links. The College is a very warm and friendly school with a fantastic student body and dedicated and talented staff. You will join us at an exciting time as we continue our journey to become an outstanding academy.

Our vision for the school is to deliver outstanding education to our students, not only in terms of academic success, but by ensuring we develop the “whole child” so that our students leave us equipped to succeed in the ever changing world.

Science at Huxlow has a rich history of success. Results are always outstanding with ‘value added’ ranking us in the top 10% of schools year on year. In 2014, 80% of GCSE candidates gained at least two grade C’s or above. Triple Science results were significantly above the national average for all three disciplines.

Candidates may be looking for a short term assignment or may be looking to re-join the profession after a break.

We recognise that to realise our vision we need to attract, develop and reward our people. We are an ‘Investor in People’, and are committed to the professional development and career progression of our employees even if they are initially with us for a short time.
Description:
The successful candidate will:

• Be immersed in the culture of a truly outstanding Science Team
• Be supported by a highly skilled and motivated team
• Have access to national ground-breaking Science CPD via PiXL
