Description:

An inspirational Deputy Head, you’ll relish this non-teaching role with a strong focus on improving teaching, learning and inclusion throughout our very special school.

The Grange Primary Academy has been a proud part of United Learning since 2013. We are on a journey of rapid improvement, gaining ‘Good’ grading against all indicators in our last Ofsted inspection (March 2015). United Learning provides full support to ensure that our journey continues successfully. Now with a new Head Teacher, we have the vision and the passion to provide all of our pupils with an excellent education, and to be a real safe haven for their growth.

Many of the school’s children come from areas of high deprivation. We have an above average number of pupils supported at School Action Plus, with SEN statements, and eligible for Pupil Premium Funding. The scope to make a real difference in their lives is huge. That is exactly what our dedicated team aims to do - through excellent teaching, our brand new nurture unit that supports aspiration, and with an ethos of care, respect, tolerance and understanding.

As Deputy Head, you’ll be an integral member of a new leadership team. This is a unique opportunity to make the role your own, and to make a lasting change for the better in children’s lives. Responsible for the education and wellbeing of our pupils, you will share in the corporate responsibility for safeguarding, behaviour, wellbeing, assessment, discipline, and health and safety. As a strategic leader, you will work closely with the Head to achieve the school’s vision, plan for the future, and deliver high performance. You’ll take the lead on developing and further improving the school’s curriculum and inclusion provision, within a culture of quality learning.

A qualified teacher, you have the leadership, management and teaching experience it takes to be a highly effective Deputy Head Teacher. As a proactive senior leader in a primary school, you have driven development and improvement - from policies to teaching practice. Significant experience in a community that shares similar challenges to the Grange is vital. Your creativity, integrity and flair for forging relationships with staff, pupils, parents/carers, governors and the community set you.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged.  Please contact our Headteacher Chris Latimer: chris.latimer@grangeprimary.org.uk
